Lionel Messi wrote his name into the history books once more after he produced another magical goal on Thursday evening to make him the top goalscorer in Fifa competitions.
This time, his moment came against Porto in the Club World Cup during Inter Miami’s 2-1 victory.
Miami had started the tournament off in lacklustre fashion, with fans enduring a stalemate against Egyptian side Al-Ahly.
Javier Mascherano’s team began their match against Porto in worse form, with Samu Aghehowa slamming the ball home from the penalty spot to send the Portuguese side 1-0 up at the break.
After a Miami response just one minute after the restart, Messi produced another moment of magic from a deadball situation.
The Argentine curled the ball perfectly over the wall, nestling into the top corner of Claudio Ramos’ net.
Miami would go on to see out the win, giving them a great chance to progress to the knockout stages as they currently sit on four points.
