The Oasis frontman is never one to mince his words

Liam Gallagher has sent a brutal two-word message after Jurgen Klopp confirmed he would be leaving Liverpool on Friday.

The German is opting to walk away from Anfield at the end of the season, having been in charge of the Merseyside giants since October 2015.

Many fans are saddened by Klopp's exit, with the 56-year-old impressing during his stint in the Premier League.

One team whose fans will be pleased to see the back of Klopp is Manchester City, however.

City and Liverpool have regularly competed for the biggest titles on offer during Klopp's successful spell in the dugout.

And Gallagher, who is a huge fan of the reigning Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League winners, has brutally reacted to Klopp's exit.

"Good riddance," he replied to Radio X host Johnny Vaughan on Friday.

"I've got nothing, yeah, good riddance. See you later!"

Liverpool are currently five points clear of City at the top of the Premier League table, having played one game more.

And all signs point to the two giants enjoying yet another fascinating battle in the coming months ahead.

City boss Pep Guardiola was asked about Klopp's exit bombshell following his side's 1-0 FA Cup victory over Tottenham.

Nathan Ake scored the only goal of the game to send Guardiola's side through to the fifth round of the historic competition.

And Guardiola has joked he'll be able to sleep better knowing that Klopp will soon be packing his bags and strolling off into the sunset.

"I will sleep better. The games against Liverpool have almost been a nightmare," he said.

"Of course he will be missed. I was shocked like everyone.

"I felt listening to the news that a part of Man City will lose something.

"We cannot define our period together here without him. We cannot define our period without Liverpool. It's impossible.

"They've been our biggest rival and personally he's been the best rival I've ever had in my life.

"The Premier League are going to miss him, the charisma and his personality. And especially the way his teams play.

"It's always been a pleasure to respect his approach, how positive it is no matter what.

"The fans are going to try to win the game. Of course, I wish him all the best. It's always tough, but from now on Liverpool will be tougher."

Klopp hasn't shut the door on quitting management altogether, having expressed a desire to live a 'normal life'.

However, Guardiola expects his old foe to be back in the dugout in the future.

"Maybe it's my opinion, he won't admit it, but he will be back. I know it," he said.

"He'll be back at the national team, another team, somewhere, I don't know.

"Football needs personalities like him. My dream is I hope we can have dinners together and all the drink we deserve to take."
