Charlotte Trippier has broken her silence on her split from Newcastle United defender Kieran Trippier, confirming it was her decision to end their marriage.
The 36-year-old posted an emotional video message on Instagram to her 34,300 followers, addressing the separation for the first time since her footballer husband confirmed they had been apart for over a year.
In the video, Charlotte reassured supporters she was "fine" whilst acknowledging she wasn't ready to discuss the situation fully.
She promised to reveal more details "when I am comfortable and the time is right", citing her three young children as a key consideration in her decision to remain largely silent until now.

Speaking directly to her followers, Charlotte offered words of encouragement to others experiencing similar situations.
"You can get through it once you make the decision," she said in the video.

"The sparkle does come back, I feel like I am getting my glow back again and yeah, like, you'll get there."
She extended support to anyone going through breakups, stating: "So, anyone that needs any motivational speech or just some general chit chat, I'm all about mental health and stuff like that, I'm letting you know you will absolutely get through, any sort of break up or anything similar to what I'm going through."
The England international, who has 54 caps, had confirmed the separation on Wednesday after being photographed with Geordie Shore star Chloe Ferry in Ibiza.
Pictures showed Kieran with his arm around the 29-year-old reality star at Ushuaia club, with sources describing them as "very tactile".
Prior to the Ibiza incident, Charlotte had thanked someone who sent her a video of Kieran leaving a Newcastle nightclub with an unnamed blonde woman in May. "Love a girls' girl. Thanks babe," she had written on social media.
Kieran's statement claimed they had separated over a year ago and asked media to respect their privacy to protect their children.
Charlotte's post received overwhelming support, including from fellow ex-WAG Billi Mucklow, who split from Andy Carroll in September 2024.

Sources suggest Charlotte has consulted lawyers about the marriage and has already moved to a new property. "Charlotte wants to keep things as amicable as possible with Kieran," a source told The Sun.
Newcastle United fans praised Charlotte's dignity throughout the situation, with one writing: "Always so happy and classy. You're so pretty, he's lost a good one there!"
