However, a brace from Vinicius Jr saw Real come roaring back.
At the death, Bellingham thought he'd won the match when he headed home a delivery from Brahim Diaz.
The former Birmingham and Borussia Dortmund star was, however, left enraged after the goal was disallowed by referee Jesus Gil Manzano.
Bellingham has now been given a two-match ban for dissent after saying it was a 'f***ing goal' as his temper boiled over.
He will miss matches against Celta Vigo and Osasuna as a result.
But Bellingham could receive another suspension if he's booked in Real's Champions League clash with RB Leipzig tonight, providing the LaLiga side go through.
Carlo Ancelotti's men are 1-0 up from the first leg, with Diaz netting the only goal in the reverse fixture in Germany.
Bellingham has been booked twice in the Champions League so far.
And picking up a third yellow will see him banned for any potential quarter-final showdown.
Real are the favourites to go through, especially given their advantage from the first leg.
Ancelotti has spoken out ahead of tonight's showdown at the Bernabeu.
And the Italian has claimed he's yet to speak to Bellingham since his controversial dismissal against Valencia.
“I haven’t spoken to him," stated the former Everton and Chelsea boss, whose side have won the Champions League 14 times throughout their history.
"The red card in Valencia was because he had a bit of frustration, but he didn’t insult anyone.”
He continued: "I’m calm. I don’t like to think about the referee before a match. And not after either.

“I really don’t know what is better or worse.
"I don’t know if it’s good for the referees to have to explain... there are people better placed than me to say what’s best for them.”
And Ancelotti has warned Real they must be at their best to overcome Leipzig and boost their hopes of European glory.
“It’s an important opportunity to continue in a special competition for us," he added.
"We have to be at our best. The tie is not over.”
