The English star is poised to stay in Germany

Harry Kane’s potential return to the Premier League has been cast into doubt, with reports stating his wife, Katie, is loving life in Bavaria so far.

According to German outlet Bild, the England superstar’s family have enjoyed a more reclusive life in Germany, as opposed to the constant media attention of England, and Katie is said to have expressed her desire to remain in Munich.

Kane’s current contract in Munich lasts until 2027, but has a release clause of £56million should he inform the club of his decision to leave before January 31.

Vincent Kompany’s side is keen to extend his deal, given his extraordinary goal return of 105 goals in 109 appearances; however, they are waiting until the expiry of the release clause before opening talks.

The 32-year-old remains just 47 goals shy of Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League goal record of 260, and Tottenham boss Thomas Frank even recently expressed his desire to see Kane return to England - but it seems far less likely now.

Given Katie Kane’s desire to remain in Munich and the England international’s exceptional form, Bayern are now confident on agreeing a contract extension and ensuring Kane remains at the club.

"In terms of staying longer, I could definitely see that," Kane recently told reporters on his desire to stay. "I spoke openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those conversations with Bayern yet, but if they were to arise I would be willing to talk and have an honest conversation.

"Obviously it depends on how the next year or so goes and what we achieve together. Right now, I would say we are in a fantastic moment and I am not thinking about anything else.

"In terms of the Premier League, I don't know. If you had asked me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.

"Now, I have been there a couple of years I would probably say that has gone down a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back.

"What I have learned in my career is that different opportunities and different timings happen and things fall in place. Going back to my first point, with Bayern right now I am fully all in with Bayern."

Kane ended his career-long trophy drought last season, as Bayern romped the league by finishing 13 points ahead of second-place Bayer Leverkusen.

The former Spurs star scored 26 goals to take home his second consecutive Bundesliga golden boot and is keen to emulate such form this season - he has already netted 20 times this campaign.

"When you win a title like I did last year, maybe it could be easy to go the other way and be like, 'OK, I've done what I wanted to achieve'," he continued.

"But it's given me more motivation to do more and be better. I think I've shown that this year. I was interested in how I would feel after winning a trophy. Obviously, there's still a lot more I want to achieve in terms of other trophies and bigger trophies for sure.

"But I think it was always just, in my head, what I was going to feel like after I did achieve winning my first one.

"But for sure, I pushed myself the other way in terms of being even better, eating even cleaner, doing more gym. Just trying to get the most out of what I've got right now."

Kane moved to Bayern Munich for £86.4million after 14 prolific years at Spurs that saw him net 213 Premier League goals. The 32-year-old is also England's record goalscorer after bagging 76 times in his 110 caps.
