The Bayern Munich star was well off the pace as the Three Lions crashed to defeat
Harry Kane has hinted he plans to keep playing for England, despite scrutiny surrounding the striker following his flat performance in Sunday's 2-1 defeat to Spain in the final of Euro 2024.
The 30-year-old struggled during the match in Berlin and was withdrawn for Ollie Watkins with the Three Lions chasing an equaliser.
Kane was also well off the pace at the tournament in general, despite his three goals seeing him finish the competition level with Dani Olmo as the joint-leading goalscorer.
Pace, it seems, is required to win big matches these days. Spain had that with Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal, with the pair using their searing speed to get behind England.

Kane has never really had that in his locker but the Bayern Munich star has now hinted he has no plans to call time on his international career.
Writing on X, he said: "Heartbroken we couldn’t achieve what we worked so hard to.
"It was a long tough tournament and I’m so proud of the boys and staff for getting to the final.
"Ultimately we fell short of our target and will have to live with that but as we always do we will pick ourselves up, dust ourselves down and be ready to fight again in an England shirt."

There are question marks over whether Kane was fully fit throughout the tournament.
He sustained a back injury before the end of last season with Bayern Munich and his flat displays set alarm bells ringing long before Sunday's defeat.
England brought on both Ollie Watkins and Ivan Toney during the match against Spain, with neither player able to haul England back into contention.
Kane confessed it had been tough for him 'physically and mentally', with the 30-year-old yet to win a trophy for club or country.
"Another tough moment for the team and for me personally," continued the forward.
"A tough tournament physically and mentally. You get so close to the highest of the highs, the pinnacle of our careers, now everyone is at the lowest of the lows.
"We haven't found a way to win that trophy and it is going to hurt for a long time."
While Kane's wait for silverware goes on, however, he remains undisputedly one of the best strikers in the world.

He is expected to skipper the side should they qualify for the World Cup in 2026.
While Kane looks set to keep fighting on for England, it's unclear what will happen with manager Gareth Southgate.
The 53-year-old's future in the dugout is unclear, with three names believed to be in the frame to take over should he opt to walk away.
One candidate is Eddie Howe, who has long been admired within the FA following his work with Newcastle and Bournemouth.

It is unclear if he'd want to accept a job in international management at this stage of his career, however.
A second option is Graham Potter, who remains available following his sacking from Chelsea in April last year.
And if England decide to appoint a foreign manager then Mauricio Pochettino could be put forward. Like Potter, he is on the market due to his own departure from Stamford Bridge.
