Global, the London-based media and entertainment powerhouse, has secured a controlling interest in Gary Neville's sports media venture The Overlap, the company confirmed on Tuesday.
The transaction brings to an end Miroma Group's tenure as majority shareholders, with the investment firm now departing the business entirely.
Financial particulars of the arrangement remain undisclosed.
The strategic partnership represents a significant milestone for the former Manchester United defender's digital media ambitions, with Global's backing set to propel the brand into its next chapter.

Neville will assume the role of co-chair alongside Global Group chief executive Simon Pitts, whilst former Sky Sports producer Scott Melvin takes up the position of lead executive director.
The newly configured leadership team has outlined ambitious plans to establish "The Overlap Network" as a premier destination for sports content worldwide.
"We are delighted to have found the perfect partner in Global to power us forward and create 'The Overlap Network' with the aim of becoming a world-leading football and sports media platform," Neville stated.

The venture will span multiple brands and channels across various sporting disciplines, with football remaining the primary focus.
The Overlap burst onto the scene in 2021 and has since established itself among Britain's most successful visual podcast brands.
Its centrepiece programme, Stick to Football, brings together an enviable roster of former professionals including Roy Keane, Ian Wright, Jamie Carragher and Jill Scott, who join Neville to dissect the week's footballing talking points.
The format has proved remarkably popular, attracting more than 38 million monthly views on YouTube alone.
Across all platforms during 2025, the brand accumulated a staggering 2.2 billion views.

Beyond football, the company has expanded into rugby union and cricket through dedicated spin-off series.
Neville reflected on the journey thus far: "The Overlap started as an idea that we thought people might like and we went for it. What has happened since then has been a great journey and it's a team that I love working with and I'm incredibly proud to be a part of."
Global brings considerable firepower to the partnership, with a portfolio valued at approximately £900 million encompassing radio stations such as LBC, Capital and Heart, alongside The News Agents podcast.
The acquisition follows Global's recent establishment of Global Studios and its sports-focused branded entertainment division, Sport by Global, launched in October.
