It'll be the second year in a row the two teams face off with silverware at stake

The FA Cup final will reportedly kick off at 3pm on May 25, with Manchester City and Manchester United set to meet at Wembley.

City qualified for the final with a narrow 1-0 win over Chelsea on Saturday, with Bernardo Silva scoring the only goal of the game.

As for United, the Red Devils survived a stirring comeback from Coventry to win on penalties and book their own place in next month's showpiece event.

As things stand, no official announcement has been made regarding the kick off time for the final.

But the Daily Mail say the match is set to commence at 3pm.

It was a similar story when the two teams met last year, with City beating United 2-1 following a brace from Ilkay Gundogan.

It's claimed, however, that ITV are now facing a 'scheduling nightmare'.

Metropolitan Police don't want the Manchester derby to kick off any later amid fears of possible crowd trouble at Wembley.

Official confirmation is expected to be confirmed later this week, with rights holders BBC and ITV also involved.

ITV are facing a dilemma, however, with the Champions Cup final due to take place on the same day.

That showdown will kick off at 2.45pm and ITV have the rights to show it.

The rugby could, therefore, be screened on ITV4 - which will have 'significant implications' for its viewing figures.

Rugby authorities are said to be unhappy with the clash amid fears the final of the Champions Cup will be 'completely overshadowed'.

Tournament organisers European Rugby Cup Ltd are unwilling to change the kick-off time for the Champions Cup, though.

And that's because they chose the 2.45pm time slot so it would avoid clashes of the Cannes Film Festival, as well as the French Cup final between Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon.

Meanwhile, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was enraged on Saturday - venting his fury over his side being forced to face Chelsea just three days after their Champions League exit to Real Madrid.

"It's unacceptable to let us play today," he raged.

"It's impossible, for the health of the players. It's not normal. It's unacceptable. 120 minutes, the emotions of Madrid, the way we lose, honestly.

"I know this country is special [with the FA Cup] but it's for the health of the players. I don't understand how we survived today."

As for United boss Erik ten Hag, the Dutchman admitted to 'mixed feelings' after his side's nervy win over Coventry.

“It's mixed feelings. The way we did it isn't OK. We should have managed it better but it's a huge performance," said the 34-year-old.

"If you analyse the game we controlled 75 minutes but then allowed them to return into the game.

"We can be happy with the achievement, getting to the final, that's huge. If you see United was, in the last 20 seasons, five times in the FA Cup final and now we are twice there in two years.

"We need to win that final though. When we [are] 100 per cent in it then we can do it.”
