England defender Dan Burn has revealed he was grilled by Thomas Tuchel back in March following comments made at a press conference.
Burn made his debut for his country on March 21, with the centre-back featuring in the Three Lions' 2-0 win over Albania.
The Newcastle star had a season to remember, having helped Eddie Howe's team win the Carabao Cup final at Liverpool's expense.
Yet Burn has now revealed that he was rebuked by Tuchel following comments where he suggested that he'd been given a 'chance'.

Appearing on The High Performance podcast, Burn stated: “You get that little bit of impostor syndrome [when you get called up for England].
“These lads have played so many caps, played all levels of age groups, and this is like my first time. I’m 32 years old, and it was Myles’ [Lewis-Skelly] first time and he was like 18.
“I remember saying in my press conference that I’m really happy that the manager took a chance on us and hope to repay him.
"And he [Tuchel] was like, ‘Why did you say that?’ and I was like, ‘Well, it’s just like what you say,’ and he was like, ‘There’s no chance, it’s not like we’re picking a 17-year-old lad who’s not played a game, we know exactly what we’re getting from you… it isn’t a chance’.”

Burn featured for England just five days after helping Newcastle win the Carabao Cup.
He says he wasn't 'bricking it', however, with the ex-Brighton star unfazed by the pressure that the international stage brings.
“Obviously, I’d just played the biggest game of my life three days earlier," he added.
"For me personally as a Newcastle supporter, this [England debut] wasn’t any bigger than that [Carabao Cup final].

“So, like coming up to the game, I wasn’t nervous before… when he told us in the morning that I was playing, it wasn’t like I was bricking it.”
England made a solid start to life under Tuchel.
However, during the last international break, the Three Lions took a major step backwards by losing 3-1 to Senegal - just days after a drab 1-0 win over Andorra.

England were dire against Senegal and, with the World Cup just a year away, alarm bells have already started to ring.
However, Tuchel insisted after the fixture that there was 'no need to panic' just yet.
The former Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund boss stated: “We lost a test match so there is no need to panic.

“We have three qualification games, we have nine points, we have not conceded and we will be competitive in September and we will go for two more victories, 100 per cent.
"We know more now, we are smarter. It is tough at the moment.
"I am the first one to dislike and hate losses but we don’t go next week, we go in one year and I think by nature it will get more competitive in the nomination process and in the demands for players to be nominated and to be with us in September, October, November because we are in a World Cup season.”
