The Three Lions will be hoping to go all the way in Germany

England have announced their provisional squad for Euro 2024 - with several big names omitted.

There's no room for Marcus Rashford, Jordan Henderson and Raheem Sterling with the trio all paying the price for underwhelming seasons at their respective clubs.

Rashford has scored just eight goals for United amid a turbulent campaign at Old Trafford, with Sterling toiling in his second season at Chelsea.

And Henderson appears to be on the wane after failing to take Ajax by storm since his arrival back in January.

England have named four goalkeepers in their provisional squad.

Jordan Pickford inevitably makes the cut, with the Everton star set to be Southgate's No 1 once again at a major tournament.

Aaron Ramsdale has also been included, despite struggling for regular game time at Arsenal.

Burnley's James Trafford and Crystal Palace's Dean Henderson also have a chance of going to the Euros this summer.

In defence, stalwarts Hawrry Maguire, Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker, Luke Shaw and John Stones have all been included.

They've been joined by Jarrad Branthwaite, Lewis Dunk, Joe Gomez, Marc Guehi, Ezri Konsa and Jarell Quansah.

In midfield, Declan Rice makes the cut.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to be deployed in the middle of the park for upcoming friendlies against Bosnia and Iceland.

Kobbie Mainoo, Conor Gallagher, Curtis Jones, Adam Wharton and Jude Bellingham are also options for Southgate.

England have gone with plenty of forwards as they look to end 58 years of hurt this summer.

Despite an injury scare, Harry Kane is poised to start at the tip of Southgate's attack.

Ivan Toney and Ollie Watkins, of Brentford and Aston Villa respectively, will provide competition for the 30-year-old.

Eberechi Eze has been included after impressing for Crystal Palace once more this season.

Jarrod Bowen, Anthony Gordon and James Maddison have been recognised for their impressive performances for West Ham, Newcastle and Tottenham respectively.

And Phil Foden, Jack Grealish and Cole Palmer will all be hoping to make the final 26-man squad as well.

England fans on X seem to be happy with the squad, with one user saying: "WHAT A SQUAD. ENGLAND EUROS 2024 WINNERS."

A second stated: "What is this and what have you done with Gareth Southgate?"

Another fan enthused: "Finally Gareth... You picked on form!"
