Endrick netted the only goal of the game at Wembley on Saturday night

England coach Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was involved in a furious row with the fourth official during the Three Lions' defeat to Brazil on Saturday night.

And Gareth Southgate has admitted he would normally expect more bookings as his side were put to the sword.

Brazil midfielders Lucas Paqueta and Bruno Guimaraes committed numerous fouls throughout the first half at Wembley.

And Hasselbaink was furious with the pair not being cautioned, with the Dutchman then raging in the tunnel at half time.

Reporting on the row, Channel 4's Kelly Somers said: "Well I can tell you that it might have been feisty on the pitch, it was exactly that in the tunnel as well.

"I am sat behind the Brazil bench, they were animated throughout the first-half.

"England coach Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink followed the fourth official down the tunnel.

"They were deep in conversation. I'm not multi-lingual, it wasn't in English.

"But Danilo also got involved. Hasselbaink's message was 'one, two, three, four fouls, too many fouls'."

Southgate was asked about the controversy following the showdown.

And the England boss questioned the officiating, admitting he'd normally expect more yellow cards to be dished out.

"It's a classic game against a South American team," said the 53-year-old.

"In a [competitive game] there might have been more cards given.

"We knew to expect that and we played from the back really well. I'm not unhappy with a lot about the performance."

Endrick was the matchwinner for Brazil, with the 17-year-old becoming the youngest player to score in an international fixture at Wembley.

But there were still positives for England to take.

And Southgate hailed Anthony Gordon for his display, insisting the Newcastle star was 'excellent' in defence and attack.

"It was a top-level game. We've controlled long parts and had as many attempts as them on goal," he stated.

"It's just that ruthless moment that decides the game.

"We've had players making debuts, having few caps, and there were some important performances out there.

"Anthony [Gordon] was excellent at both sides of his game.

"At 15 minutes to go, there were a lot of changes and at that point, the crowd were really pleased with the performance.

"When you lose the game, it turns negative but we've got to put context on that as there were lots of good things in the performance."

England won't have too long to dwell on the defeat to Brazil.
