Dele Alli is back in training as he looks to revive his career following his release from Italian club Como, while his former partner, model and singer Cindy Kimberly, has hinted at their split in a new social media post.
The 29-year-old midfielder, once one of England’s brightest prospects, finds himself without a club after a brief and turbulent spell in Serie A.
Alli joined Como in January on an 18-month deal with an option for a further year but was released by mutual consent in the summer after making just one appearance — a match in which he was sent off only 10 minutes after coming off the bench.
Manager Cesc Fà bregas made it clear that Alli did not feature in his plans for the 2025–26 season, prompting an early exit.
In a statement, the club said: “Como and Dele Alli have agreed to a mutual termination of his contract.
“Dele is keen to secure regular playing opportunities and, as he was not part of the club's immediate plans, both parties felt it was the right decision to part ways ahead of the transfer window closing.
“The club thanks Dele for his time at Como and wishes him the very best for the future.”
Alli, who had hoped the move to Italy would reignite his career, is now a free agent but has returned to the training pitch as he looks for a new opportunity.
Sharing footage on Instagram, he was seen running, stretching and working out in the gym, appearing fit and focused as he aims to find a new club.
His return to the field comes despite a string of injuries and setbacks that have derailed his once-promising trajectory.
The midfielder’s time at Como was symbolic of his struggles in recent years.
His debut in March marked his first competitive appearance in more than a year, but his dismissal for a rash challenge on AC Milan’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek effectively ended his spell in Italy.

Despite recovering from injury and returning to training, he never made it back into Fà bregas’ first-team plans.
Off the pitch, Alli’s personal life has also been under scrutiny following his split from Spanish-Indonesian model Cindy Kimberly.
The pair, who began dating in 2020, went public with their relationship two years later and were last pictured together in January when Kimberly joined him in Italy to celebrate his move to Como.
However, the couple separated earlier this year, with Kimberly confirming the news after unfollowing Alli on social media.
“We’ve been separate for a little while already,” she told GSM in June.
This week, she appeared to reference the breakup again on X, suggesting she'd be attempting to get back at Alli by writing songs about him.
Addressing her 660,000 followers, she said: “In the studio for weeks.
“Wrote endless songs about my three-year long relationship and my best song is about my one-week situationship.”

While Kimberly has focused on her music career and a new campaign with beauty brand Huda, Alli remains determined to get back on track professionally.
His goal of returning to England’s national setup for next year’s World Cup qualification campaign appears distant, but his renewed commitment to training signals that he has not given up.
Once the jewel of Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham side, Alli’s career has been marked by extraordinary highs and painful lows.
He was twice named the PFA Young Player of the Year and played a key role in Tottenham’s run to the 2019 Champions League final, earning 37 caps for England along the way.
But injuries, loss of form, and off-field difficulties — including a serious groin injury suffered during a loan spell at Besiktas — have seen his fortunes decline sharply.
Now, back on the training pitch with renewed focus, Alli faces perhaps the most important challenge of his career: proving that one of English football’s most gifted talents still has more to give.
