The duo previously sat together at the boxing back in December, with McGregor seeing chatting animatedly to the Al-Nassr star.
Ronaldo is the world's most-followed person on Instagram, with a staggering 634 million people keeping tabs on the 39-year-old.
In a post uploaded on Thursday, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star teased a 'new project'.

McGregor then commented saying: "What are we up to, lad?"
And the Irishman's post has been liked by a staggering 47,400 people at the current time of writing.
McGregor isn't the only sporting figure to comment on Ronaldo's latest upload, where he shows off some of his jerseys.

Rio Ferdinand commented with six sets of eyes emojis, suggesting the former United star knows something everybody else doesn't.
Somewhat randomly, Eva Longoria also commented with the Hollywood star saying: "Wait what is this? What are you up to??"
Longoria has met the actress in the past, with the pair posing for a picture back in July 2016.
However, the previous year, the 49-year-old said that she actually preferred Lionel Messi to Ronaldo.

It is currently unclear what Ronaldo's new project involves.
But the Portugal international is likely to update fans in the coming days and weeks.
Some fans have been left wondering whether Ronaldo could be about to announce his retirement from international football after a dire European Championships campaign.

The veteran failed to score a single goal as Portugal crashed out in the quarter-finals of the competition to France.
Yet Ferdinand has insisted that isn't the case and that his former team-mate 'isn't going anywhere'.
"I can't give too much away, but I've been doing a few bits with Cristiano behind the scenes," he said.

Ronaldo will be hoping to be involved when Al-Nassr face Al-Hilal in the final of the Saudi Super Cup on Saturday (5.15pm).
Al-Hilal won the Saudi Pro League last season, with Ronaldo claiming the golden boot after scoring seven more goals than former Fulham star Aleksander Mitrovic.
