England have been celebrating their Euro 2025 victory in London today

England star Chloe Kelly has apologised after swearing during the trophy celebrations in London following their victory at the European Championship this summer.

The Lionesses returned home from Switzerland on Monday after beating Spain on penalties in a nail-biting Euro final - with Kelly scoring the winning spot-kick.

Thousands of England fans lined the streets of London to catch a glimpse of their Euro heroes after it was announced that an open-top bus parade would make its way through the capital on Tuesday.

Among them were many children as there were scenes of sheer jubilation, particularly outside Buckingham Palace where a stage was built for the players to speak with the crowd.

One of the players to take the microphone was Kelly, who said: “Thank you to everyone that got out to support us, whether that’s out in Switzerland or here today. It’s so f****** special.”

It forced an immediate apology from BBC presenter Alex Scott and now Kelly has since said sorry.

Writing on Instagram, the Arsenal star said: “Ooops. Emotions got the better of me. Sorry for the F bomb. love CK x.”

It is not the first time Kelly's colourful language has landed her in hot water after her post-match interview with ITV following England's win over Spain on Sunday.

She said: "This team is made of magic and steel. When we were down against Sweden and down against Italy, we f*****g showed grit and determination and we came back.

"You can't write the English off."

The 27-year-old could also been seen shouting an expletive immediately after receiving her medal from Prince William, turning to a camera and appearing to shout: "F***ing come on."

Meanwhile, England captain Leah Williamson also spoke on the Buckingham Palace stage.

She said: "Everything we do, obviously we do it for us and our team, but we do it for the country and we do it for young girls.

"Thank you so much for being with us. Stay with us, this story is not done yet.”

Her words sparked an immense reaction from a huge crowd outside the palace, with England flags being waved throughout a sea of white and red.

England have now won the European Championship two times in a row, having also landed victory in 2022.

They also reached the World Cup final last year but were beaten by Spain on that occasion, though now they have exacted their revenge on their European rivals.
