Chelsea had a chance to go above West Ham and Manchester United in the table against Arsenal.

Angry Chelsea fans have turned on Mauricio Pochettino after Arsenal thrashed the Blues 5-0 at the Emirates.

The match was seen as a huge chance for Chelsea to lay down a marker for the final few weeks of the season.

For Arsenal, it was regarded as one of their most difficult matches as they look to close in on the title.

But any nerves from the home fans were eased inside just four minutes when Leandro Trossard gave Arsenal the lead.

Chelsea threatened to equalise throughout the remainder of the first half, but failed to convert on any of their chances.

Any chance of a comeback from Chelsea quickly evaporated after the break when Ben White got on the scoresheet.

Chelsea's heads dropped after that with the Gunners refusing to take their foot off the gas with Kai Havertz bagging a brace against his former team before White grabbed the fifth and final goal of the match.

Pochettino cut a lonely figure on the touchline with the Chelsea section of the crowd close to empty at the final whistle.

And Chelsea fans have made their feelings clear on social media with Pochettino taking plenty of criticism.

One fan demanded: "You need to sack Pochettino now."

Another moaned: "If you have any honour, you'll fire Poch immediately."

A third said: "I believe the last time we had it this bad was under Roberto Martinez, but he still won us the Champion's league cup. Pochettino out!"

Rio Ferdinand also criticised Chelsea for crumbling against their London rivals having shown improvements in recent weeks.

"They [Chelsea] were second best all over the pitch today. This was men against boys," he said.

"They have been good in recent weeks and this season. I think they were way off it."
