Chelsea romped to a 6-0 victory over Everton on Monday night but the win was overshadowed by a spat over a penalty in the second half.

Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke have both posted similar messages on Instagram following their controversial spat with Cole Palmer during Chelsea's 6-0 drubbing of Everton on Monday night.

Mauricio Pochettino's side put in arguably their best display of the season as they ripped Everton apart at Stamford Bridge.

Palmer grabbed the headlines as he bagged four goals to put him level with Erling Haaland at the top of the Premier League goalscorers chart.

Jackson also got on the scoresheet with a neat finish with youngster Alfie Gilchrist rounding things off with his first goal for the club.

It was almost the perfect night for Chelsea, but the win was overshadowed by an incident just after the hour mark.

After Chelsea were awarded a penalty, Madueke picked up the ball and began barking to his team-mates that he was going to take the spot-kick.

Jackson was initially trying to get the ball off Madueke before walking away with Palmer - Chelsea's regular taker- then stepping in with Conor Gallagher acting as mediator.

Palmer eventually got the ball with Gallagher pulling both Madueke and Jackson away from the penalty area.

The incident raised questions on the level of cohesiveness in the Chelsea dressing room.

But both Madueke and Jackson have tried to show that there's no hard feelings with their team-mates with their latest Instagram posts.

Madueke put up a photo from the match with the Chelsea team huddled together along with a blue loveheart.

Jackson did something similar by using the blue loveheart along with a series of photos from Chelsea's win over Everton.

Palmer also downplayed any issues within the Chelsea dressing room after the match.

He said: “Other players wanted to take it, which is understandable because it’s 4-0. But I’m the penalty taker and I wanted to take so in the end, I took it.

“We’re trying to show that everyone wants to take responsibility, maybe it was a bit over the top with the argument and stuff but everyone wants to help.

"It was nothing major, we were laughing and joking about it. The gaffer has told us now.”

However, an angry Mauricio Pochettino was more scathing of his Chelsea players for the public spat on the pitch.

"I can't accept this kind of behaviour," said Pochettino.

"I told them it's the last time I want to see this kind of behaviour."

He added: "It is impossible to have this type of behaviour after this performance. If we want to be a great team, we need to change and think in a collective way."
