An epic rivalry ended in a win for the London side

Chelsea took a crucial step towards a place in the Champions League with a scrappy win against Manchester United.

One header was all that separated the two teams in a game that lacked final third quality.


Chelsea were in a must-win situation, after Aston Villa saw off Spurs to move into a prime position for Champions League places.

Manchester United have had one of their worst seasons in recent memory, but their rivalry with Chelsea led to a hard-fought battle at Stamford Bridge.
