Bryan Mbeumo has decided he “wants to join Manchester United,” reports suggest.
Mbeumo, 25, has scored a career-high 20 league goals this campaign and has reportedly rejected potential advances from Arsenal, Newcastle and Tottenham Hotspur in favour of the Red Devils.
Brentford is resigned to losing Mbeumo, who they signed for a fee of around £5million from French side Troyes in 2019, but insist it will not be cheap.
It has been reported that the London club has slapped a £60million price tag on his head.

Despite this, Mbeumo has just 12 months remaining on his contract, meaning that the Bees could lose the 25-year-old on a free transfer in 2026.
Talks are now expected to advance between the club after United were made aware of Mbeumo’s decision, according to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein.
The update is a huge boost for United, who are looking for a summer rebuild after their worst-ever Premier League campaign.

Ruben Amorim’s side scored just 44 goals in the league this season, whereas Mbeumo contributed to 29 goals as he played a starring role in Brentford’s 10th-place finish.
The winger has hit the net 48 times in the Premier League and would provide a versatile option for Amorim to play in any of the forward three positions.
This year, the Bees finished 14 points above United, scoring 22 more goals.

The Cameroonian would be United’s second signing of the window after they confirmed the £62.5million signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves on Sunday.
With two significant arrivals potentially through the door, it leaves United’s finances in desperate need of some departures - particularly if they are to comply with the strict Profit and Sustainability Rules.
Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund are all rumoured to have potential suitors.
Recently, Hojlund was subject to an approach from Champions League finalists Inter Milan, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The signing of Mbeumo would represent a significant shift in United’s recruitment.
Typically, the Red Devils have signed big-name players from European clubs for huge transfer fees - but the strategy was a colossal failure.
Instead, they are now said to be looking at talent that has already proven themselves in the Premier League, such as Cunha and Mbeumo.
