The Red Devils have won four in a row following their 2-0 win over Tottenham

Bruno Fernandes couldn't help but deliver a wonderfully deadpan response when quizzed about Manchester United superfan Frank Ilett's viral hair challenge.

The Red Devils captain was asked whether the devoted supporter, who vowed not to cut his locks until United strung together five consecutive victories, would finally be heading for a trim.

Fernandes' reply was certainly blunt.

"I need to book for myself, I don't look at other people," the Portuguese midfielder said.

"I don't look if they need to go to the hairdresser or not, that is not important for me."

The brilliantly savage response quickly spread across social media, adding yet another twist to one of United's most peculiar fan challenges.

Frank's extraordinary pledge has now stretched beyond 500 days, with his hair growing ever longer through all the managerial upheaval at Old Trafford.

The challenge kicked off on 5th October 2024, back when Erik ten Hag was still at the helm.

The Dutchman was sacked just days later, but Frank's haircut curse carried on regardless.

Ruben Amorim then took charge but never managed to deliver five wins on the trot during his entire spell in charge.

The Portuguese manager's best effort was three victories in succession, which he achieved just once.

Now, under Michael Carrick, United have won four matches in a row, leaving Frank tantalisingly close to finally visiting the barber.

Following United's 2-0 triumph over Tottenham, the long-suffering fan couldn't contain his emotions.

"Carrick is at the wheel, this hair is going soon, West Ham next, four out of five done," Frank declared.

"This is the first time it's been four in a row since I started the challenge."

The Oxford-born supporter, who now lives in Spain, has documented every painful step of his journey online, building quite the following along the way.

"This time it's happening. Thank you so much to Carrick, thank you, thank you, thank you," he added.

Frank has also announced plans for a live watchalong when United face West Ham in what could be the decisive fifth match.

There's a heartwarming twist to this whole saga, though.

Once Frank finally gets to chop off his lengthy locks, he's pledged to donate the hair to The Little Princess Trust.

The UK charity creates wigs for children who have lost their hair through illness, giving Frank's marathon challenge a truly meaningful purpose.

So, with just one more victory needed against West Ham, Frank's 500-day ordeal could soon come to an end for a brilliant cause.
