AFC Bournemouth have opened an investigation into right-back Alex Jimenez after posts involving the 21-year-old defender emerged on social media on Friday.
The Premier League club confirmed the Spanish player will not feature in tomorrow's away fixture at Craven Cottage against Fulham whilst the matter is examined.
In a statement released this afternoon, the Cherries said: "AFC Bournemouth are aware of posts circulating on social media involving right-back Alex Jimenez.
"The club understands the seriousness of the matter and it is currently being investigated.

"As a result, Alex will not be included in the squad for tomorrow's Premier League game against Fulham and the club will be making no further comment at this time."
Jimenez joined Bournemouth on a permanent basis from AC Milan during the January transfer window, having initially arrived at the Vitality Stadium on loan from the Italian giants.
The defender has been a regular fixture in Andoni Iraola's side throughout the current campaign, accumulating 31 appearances across all competitions.
Since November, the Spaniard has featured in every top-flight match for the south coast outfit, starting all but one of those encounters.
His consistent presence in the team has made him an important part of Bournemouth's defensive setup during what has been a remarkable season for the club under their departing manager.

Bournemouth currently occupy sixth position in the Premier League standings with three matches remaining in their campaign, keeping alive their hopes of securing Champions League qualification for the first time in the club's history.
The Cherries have been in outstanding form, going unbeaten across their last 15 league fixtures.
During that run, Iraola's men have claimed seven victories, including a notable triumph over table-toppers Arsenal, whilst drawing the other eight.
Following Saturday's trip to west London, Bournemouth will host Manchester City at the Vitality Stadium next Tuesday before concluding their season away to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
