With seven wins in a row in the Champions League this season, Arsenal have set a new club record

Arsenal secured a flawless Champions League league phase campaign with a commanding 3-1 triumph over Inter Milan at San Siro on Tuesday evening.

Mikel Arteta's side claimed their seventh consecutive victory in the competition, guaranteeing themselves a top-two finish before their final group match.

Gabriel Jesus netted twice during an entertaining first half, while Viktor Gyokeres added a superb third late on to seal all three points for the visitors.

Petar Sucic had briefly drawn Inter level with a spectacular strike, but Arsenal's quality ultimately proved too much for the Italian side on home soil.

The Gunners made their intentions clear from the opening whistle, creating three opportunities within the first two minutes as they pinned Inter back in their own half.

Jesus had appeared sharp throughout the early exchanges, and his alertness proved decisive in the tenth minute when Jurrien Timber's effort from inside the box was mishit.

The Brazilian striker reacted fastest, swivelling to fire into the bottom corner despite appeals for offside that proved unfounded.

Inter responded through Sucic in the 18th minute, the midfielder striking first time from the edge of the area after shots from Thuram and Barella had been blocked, leaving David Raya with no chance.

Arsenal regained the advantage in the 33rd minute through another Jesus goal, this time from a set piece combination.

Bukayo Saka delivered a corner that travelled beyond the far post, where Leandro Trossard headed the ball back across goal.

The effort struck the crossbar before dropping to Jesus, who nodded home from close range to complete his brace.

The contest appeared settled in the 87th minute when Gyokeres produced what may be his finest moment in an Arsenal shirt.

Gabriel Martinelli released the Swedish striker with an exquisite outside-of-the-boot pass.

After his initial attempt to find Saka was blocked, Gyokeres fired first time into the top corner from outside the penalty area.

Both Declan Rice and Mikel Merino received yellow cards.

They are now ruled out of Arsenal's concluding league phase fixture against Kairat.

Merino was cautioned in the 72nd minute for a cynical challenge on Dimarco, while Rice picked up his booking in stoppage time for pulling back Diouf.

The match grew increasingly comfortable for the visitors as the final whistle approached, with sections of the San Siro emptying before the end as home supporters accepted defeat.

Inter had chances to make the closing stages uncomfortable.

Frattesi blazing over from six yards after meeting Dimarco's cross, but Arsenal held firm to complete an outstanding European run.
