Newcastle United's Anthony Gordon has issued a stark message to Liverpool ahead of their Premier League clash on Monday, cautioning that the Merseyside club should prepare for an intense reception at St James' Park.
The England international's warning comes as tensions between the two clubs escalate over Liverpool's pursuit of striker Alexander Isak.

The forward's comments reflect mounting frustration among Newcastle supporters regarding Liverpool's attempts to secure their Swedish striker's services.
The Magpies began their Premier League campaign with a frustrating stalemate against Aston Villa at Villa Park, failing to find the net despite registering 16 attempts on goal.
Isak was notably absent from Eddie Howe's squad for the fixture, with the 25-year-old reportedly refusing to participate following Liverpool's unsuccessful £110 million approach earlier this month.
Gordon operated as the central striker in the Swede's absence, acknowledging afterwards that adapting to the role would require time.
Newcastle supporters voiced their displeasure during the match, with chants of "there's only one greedy b******" audible as frustration over their star forward's situation became evident.
Gordon revealed that the transfer saga has presented challenges for Newcastle's close-knit squad, marking their first public controversy.

"For that to almost... we've never had any problems publicly and so for that being the first thing to have happened, it's a test of us," he told TNT Sports.
Despite the disruption, the 24-year-old remains optimistic about the team's resilience.
"I think things like this can test you, make you better in the end, I think that's going to be the case," Gordon predicted.
He emphasised that the squad's unity remains intact: "Our togetherness is top and it always will be."
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe addressed the ongoing situation following the Villa match, expressing hope for a swift resolution.
"I hope it's resolved quickly, because it's news around us all the time," Howe told reporters.

When questioned about whether the transfer saga would add extra tension to Monday's encounter, the manager acknowledged the fixture's inherent intensity.
"It's always spicy against Liverpool, there's a history to the fixture. We look forward to it. We know how good they are," he stated.
The two sides last met competitively in March's Carabao Cup final, where Newcastle emerged victorious, whilst their most recent league encounter at St James' Park in December concluded in a thrilling 3-3 draw.
