Former Premier League striker Andy Carroll won his first game in charge of Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday, facing Torquay United at home in his debut as interim boss.
The 42-year-old was handed the caretaker role after the club parted ways with manager Lee Bradbury earlier in the week.
Bradbury's departure came despite securing a midweek victory away at Farnborough.
George Marsh scored directly from the corner in the 75th minute to give the home side the lead.

Flanked by security personnel, the gaming streamer turned boxer and musician worked his way towards the entrance while posing for pictures.
"This is going to have to end, guys," he told the gathered crowd as he progressed towards the reception.
Supporters serenaded him with chants of "we love you JJ" and "we love you Dagenham" as he entered, dressed in a cream jacket, a white T-shirt, and a bandana.
