Former Ferrari driver Rubens Barrichello has expressed positive sentiments about Michael Schumacher signing Sir Jackie Stewart's helmet, describing it as "really good news".
The Brazilian, who partnered with the seven-time world champion during Ferrari's dominant era, made these comments recently as fans continue to seek updates about Schumacher's condition.
"I don't have any contact with the Schumacher family, but if it was Michael who signed the helmet, that's really good news," Barrichello told PokerScout.
The German racing legend has been largely absent from public view since his devastating skiing accident in December 2013, making any news about his activities particularly significant to the Formula 1 community.
Barrichello and Schumacher formed one of Formula 1's most formidable partnerships at Ferrari between 2000 and 2005.
During this period, the Brazilian typically played a supporting role to his German teammate.
Schumacher's dominance during this era was remarkable, securing five consecutive Drivers' Championship titles from 2000 to 2004.
In his final championship season, the German demonstrated his exceptional talent by winning 12 of the first 13 Grands Prix.
Their time together at Ferrari represented one of the sport's most successful driver dynasties.

Since his near-fatal skiing accident in December 2013, Schumacher has been receiving care at his family home in Geneva.
The 56-year-old has been kept away from the public eye, with his inner circle tightly controlled by his wife, Corinna Schumacher.
The accident left the Formula 1 legend with life-changing injuries, and information about his condition has been carefully guarded by his family.
Barrichello has also shared his thoughts on why Mick Schumacher, Michael's son, is struggling to make a return to Formula 1.

The Brazilian believes financial factors are creating significant barriers for the younger Schumacher, who he also revealed he shared a sweet moment with.
"I see Mick Schumacher when he's racing in hypercars, my son Eduardo is racing for Aston Martin in a GT3, I see Mick sometimes in the paddock," Barrichello explained.
“He's a very, very nice guy. Obviously, I don't ask him anything about Michael's [Schumacher] health because the toughest thing for the family must be people asking about it a lot. I don't want to be intrusive.
"There was a lovely time when we met with Mick and he asked 'Tell me a good moment you had with my dad' I told him a story that made him laugh. It was a very nice moment. I wish Mick all the best because he definitely has the talent to drive.
"F1 in the 1980s, we had 36 cars, which gave plenty of drivers the opportunity to get a chance in the sport. When you have 20 cars and a lot of people with cash, it makes it very difficult for the likes of Mick to get back into F1."
LATEST SPORTS NEWS:
Mick Schumacher's Formula 1 journey has been challenging since his entry as the reigning Formula Two champion.
His first year at Haas saw him struggling with an uncompetitive VF-21 car.
Despite showing moments of genuine talent in his second season, costly crashes frustrated team principal Guenther Steiner. When the opportunity to sign Nico Hulkenberg arose, Schumacher found himself without a seat.
The 26-year-old subsequently moved into a test and reserve driver role with Mercedes in 2023, where he continues to seek a pathway back to a full-time racing position.
