The 26-year-old will be hoping to dominate Formula One once again in 2024

Max Verstappen has revealed he's got no plans to leave Red Bull at the current moment in time, with the new F1 season nigh.

The 26-year-old has been unstoppable over the past few years, winning three world titles to establish himself as the best driver on the grid.

Red Bull's plans for the new season have been thrown into turmoil amid their investigation into Christian Horner.

Horner has been accused of inappropriate behaviour, something the 50-year-old categorically denies as he fights to clear his name.

There has already been one big surprise in F1 this year courtesy of Lewis Hamilton.

Hamilton stunned fans of the sport when he announced he'd be swapping Mercedes for Ferrari in 2025.

And Verstappen has now made it clear he has no plans to change teams, though did mischievously refuse to rule out the possibility of that happening one day in the future.

“I don’t know," he said, per Planet F1.

“I don’t want to sound disrespectful or whatever. I have a lot of respect for the brand [of] Ferrari, but I’m very happy where I’m at the moment.

“I’m comfortable in the environment that I’m in here, so for me it’s not something that I’m looking for to change or whatever.

“In my life, also, I know that you always – with what I’ve experienced so far – never say never with things.

“But for me now, no.

“It’s not even in my head but, again, it’s only Formula 1.

"I want to do more things [outside of] Formula 1 as well.”

Verstappen has previously hinted that he'd emulate Nico Rosberg by walking away from F1 in his prime.

The Red Bull star admits the schedule takes a toll on him, as well as other drivers, while revealing he'd prefer to just drive and go home instead of doing other commitments.

“The time you spend beyond the time you spend in the car," he added.

"You travel a lot, you have a lot of commitments throughout the year and you know where you have to be at all times, when as a driver what I like is to race.

“It’s what I did when I was little, what I’m passionate about, but you know that in F1 everything around it is part of the sport.

“It is the least positive [aspect]. Ideally, I would just drive. But it is not possible.”

Meanwhile, Verstappen also thinks Hamilton faces an 'awkward' final season at Mercedes - and also said he wasn't surprised by the 39-year-old's decision to change things up.

"At the end of the day seeing him go to Ferrari is not a surprise. If that's your goal as a kid or your dream then you go, right?" he said.

"The only thing for me was that it seemed like it [the news] was a bit leaked of course and then they had to announce it because to announce something that big that early in the season I think for sure for the rest of the year is a little bit awkward.

"Even though you have had a lot of success together as a team, you can't be included into everything anymore.

"But for him going to Ferrari it's not really shocking."

Verstappen won the event last year and ended 2023 with 19 victories from 22 races.
