The pair have been at blows for almost a decade

Racing Bulls driver Isack Hadjar has lifted the lid on one of Formula 1's most bitter feuds, revealing the racer that Lewis Hamilton "can't stand".

The French rookie, who's become close with Hamilton since joining the F1 paddock this year, didn't hold back when discussing friendships that have soured in the sport.

And the 21-year-old told reporters it was Hamilton's former Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg who he despises.

"I'm sorry to say in F1, but Hamilton and Rosberg, I think they're the biggest example," Hadjar explained during an appearance on the Clique podcast.

"They were best friends, and now they can't stand each other anymore. It's a shame."

The revelation offers fresh insight into the lasting damage from the infamous "Silver War" that raged between the Mercedes teammates from 2013 to 2016.

Hamilton and Rosberg's relationship stretches back to their teenage years when they raced together in junior categories, forming what Hadjar described as an almost brotherly bond.

But the high-pressure environment at Mercedes proved too much for their friendship to survive.

The pair have barely interacted publicly since Rosberg's retirement after winning the 2016 championship, with their once-close relationship now seemingly beyond repair.

It's the most notorious case of friends becoming enemies in Formula 1 history.

Hadjar also offered fascinating insight into how Rosberg managed to compete with Hamilton despite lacking his natural gifts.

"There are guys who could make a career because they spend hours with engineers," the Racing Bulls driver noted.

"I know that Rosberg doesn't have Hamilton's talent, he doesn't have his speed, and yet he competed with him because he did extra hours."

This dedication paid off spectacularly - Rosberg remains the only teammate to beat Hamilton to a championship.

The German driver's methodical approach, including intense study of data and onboard footage, helped him overcome the speed deficit and claim the 2016 title before immediately retiring.

Hadjar himself has enjoyed an impressive debut season, currently sitting ninth in the drivers' championship after a stunning podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix.

The 21-year-old, who idolised Hamilton growing up, could soon find himself in more prestigious machinery.

Reports suggest he's in line to replace Yuki Tsunoda at Red Bull next season, with the Japanese driver struggling to match Max Verstappen's pace.

Tsunoda has managed fewer points at Red Bull than Hadjar scored in a single race at Zandvoort, putting his future in serious doubt.

F2 prospect Arvid Lindblad is tipped to take Hadjar's Racing Bulls seat if the promotion materialises.
