The McLaren driver showed no mercy to Lewis Hamilton and George Russell over their health scare

McLaren star Lando Norris delivered a scathing message to Lewis Hamilton and George Russell after their health scare at the Singapore Grand Prix.

Both Mercedes drivers needed urgent medical attention following the race last Sunday with both missing their media duties in the process, suffering from suspected heatstroke.

But Norris spared no prisoners when asked about the matter after he claimed victory at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, beating Max Verstappen in the process to shave his lead down to 52 points at the top.

The Briton appeared to be furious with Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff for implying that his drivers were worse off than anyone else.

"Toto Wolff issues health update on Hamilton and Russell?” he bellowed.

“F***ing hell, it’s tough for everyone! Why do they think that they’ve… Everyone’s got heatstroke if they’ve got heatstroke.”

It comes after a gruelling race in Southeast Asia where temperatures reached 50 degrees in the cockpit.

In such conditions, drivers can lose up to four litres of bodily fluid while Russell looked extremely dehydrated after getting out of his car as he finished fourth.

“They did not feel well, borderline heatstroke or something like that but they have had water," Wolff said after the race.

“They would not have been able to go to the [media] pen. There were no bad feelings or any annoyance.

"It is just that we had the doctors with them. But they are all good.”

Norris, meanwhile, is in a bullish mood as he looks to chase Verstappen down with six Grand Prixs to go this season.

With 52 points separating them, a title race might just be on while Red Bull have had their issues in recent weeks as McLaren seem to go from strength to strength.

“It was an amazing race,” Norris added. “A few too many close calls.

"I had a couple of moments in the middle but I was well in control otherwise. The car was mega so I could push and we were flying the whole race.”
