Formula 1 has unveiled the tracks that will be hosting Sprint races next season as the sport pushes for more on-track racing during the weekends.
Sprint races were first introduced in 2021 as a way to spice up the field, as fans and teams felt that there were too many practice sessions, allowing the teams to know every outcome when it came to the race.
Sprint races have gone through a few iterations before landing on the style of race we see today.
They include one practice session on a Friday before heading into sprint qualifying and the sprint race on Saturday, before the main race takes place on Sunday.

There will be six tracks that will host Sprint races next year, with a welcome return for British fans, seeing the British Grand Prix as one of those races.
Miami will also be returning as a Sprint after Mercedes' rookie Kimi Antonelli took Sprint Pole there earlier this year. The teams will also return for a Sprint race in China.
New additions to the Sprint format will see Montreal, Zandvoort, and Singapore take on the shorter race format alongside the returning tracks.
Silverstone hosted the first Sprint race back in 2021 and saw Lewis Hamilton take Sprint pole before losing out to Max Verstappen in the Sprint race itself.

The track has not featured on the Sprint format since.
China saw Hamilton take his only triumph with Ferrari as he took both pole and the win for the Sprint back in March, but has struggled to find any form with the team since.
Zandvoort will also be given a good send-off as the race is set to leave the calendar next season, but will be given the sprint race in its final outing for some fast and undulating racing along the coast.

Stefano Domenicali has been exploring the possibility of adding more Sprint races

F1 chiefs are looking at expanding the Sprint as they have entered discussions with the FIA to bring as many as 12 Sprint races to the calendar in the upcoming season.
F1 boss Stefano Domenicalli said: “The F1 sprint has continued to grow in positive impact and popularity since it was introduced in 2021.
“With four competitive sessions rather than two during a conventional Grand Prix weekend, F1 sprint events offer more action each day for our fans, broadcast partners, and for the promoters - driving increased attendance and viewership.
“The 2026 season will usher in a new era of regulations, so having three new sprint venues (Montreal, Zandvoort and Singapore) will only add to the drama on track."

The idea has been floated around changing the format of the Sprint races so that they include reverse grid races.
Drivers on the grid have been vocal in their dislike for Sprint races throughout the years, none more so than Max Verstappen.
At the Chinese Grand Prix last year, the Dutchman said: “Let's not overdo it as well because we are already doing 24 races a year, six of these Sprint events as well. I get it.
"I guess it sells better and better numbers on TV, but it's also more stress on the mechanics and everything, to get everything every time tiptop, so, we take it.
"I mean you have to deal with it, but let's not think that now we need 12 of those because it will take its toll on people as well."
The teams will now turn their attention back to this season and the Azerbaijan Grand Prix this weekend, where the four-time and reigning world champion will be hoping he can continue his form from Monza and close the gap to the McLarens.
