The two men will meet in the Premier League on Thursday night

Luke Littler reportedly wants to trademark his name in order to sell gym gear as the darts star looks to add to his growing net worth.

Few had heard of the teenager mere months ago but, ever since his brilliant performances at the World Darts Championship, he's become a household name.

Littler has a reported net worth of around £600,000, having flourished during his darts career so far.

But the canny 17-year-old is looking to add to his wealth by trademarking his name, The Sun reports.

It's claimed Littler wants to 'stamp it on weightlifting and martial arts kits'.

He also wants his name to be emblazoned on waist trimming exercise belts, while he's aiming to put his moniker on footballs, golf and tennis balls and darts equipment as well.

Littler also plans on having his own range of artificial Christmas trees and baubles, too.

It's claimed the darts star lodged his application to trademark his name with the Intellectual Property Office last Thursday.

He reportedly did this via his company, Luke Littler Darts.

Meanwhile, the youngster is currently preparing for his seismic Premier League clash with Michael van Gerwen on Thursday night.

It's a match that has the makings of a classic given the brilliance of both players and their intense rivalry.

Littler will be going into the match on a high after winning the last night of Premier League action in Belfast.

The prodigy overcame Luke Humphries and Van Gerwen to make the final.

And he then beat Nathan Aspinall 6-4 to make his mark in the competition for the first time.

Littler is set to have the backing of the Manchester crowd when he steps out at the oche.

Yet Van Gerwen, speaking after last week's event in Northern Ireland, took a fresh swipe at the teenager.

He has already made it clear he's unhappy with how much coverage his young rival receives.

And Van Gerwen said Littler's victories over him haven't been 'convincing' after crashing to defeat against the teen last week.

"Right at the beginning of that match it went wrong," he told Viaplay.
