The teenage sensation won his second World Series title in the space of a week

Luke Littler overcame rival Luke Humphries in the final of the New Zealand Darts Masters to add yet another title to his collection and grow his prize winnings once more.

The victory means another £30,000 to add to his winnings from Australia last week to his ever-growing bank of prize money.

On the day, Littler averaged an astonishing 115 as he swatted world No1 Humphries aside 8-4.

Littler rattled off three successive legs on multiple occasions to shatter Humphries’ hopes.

The 18-year-old threw seven 180s throughout the contest and maintained a 50 per cent success rate on checkouts.

The victory means The Nuke edges above his rival in their head-to-head, with Littler winning eight of their battles at the oche as opposed to Humphries’ seven.

Littler beat Mike De Decker, Gerwyn Price and native Mark Cleaver on his route to the final, dropping just two legs in each game.

His match against Cleaver was not straightforward, though, with the 18-year-old failing to register a single 180 and averaging 95.

The Nuke’s current electric run of form continues, adding the New Zealand Darts masters to his recent triumph in Australia last week and the coveted World Matchplay title in July.

The victory in Australia also brought home £30,000, while his latest title brought his total winnings up to approximately £1.75million.

Littler’s triumph at the Blackpool Winter Gardens in July meant another £200,000.

The reigning world champion has solidified his place in the top two in the world this year.

Michael van Gerwen, who stands third on the PDC’s Order of Merit, sits at under £750,000 in prize money, less than half of The Nuke’s.

The Australian and New Zealand victories marked the sensation’s first two World Series titles this year.

His two recent successes add to victories in Bahrain, Poland and the Netherlands in 2024 to take his tally of World Series titles to five.

After his triumph in Australia last week, the 18-year-old said: "Obviously it hadn't gone to plan on the World Series circuit this year, but there's plenty of opportunities to win and I've finally picked up that trophy.”
