Tyson Fury has been forced to pull out of the February 17th scheduled date to fight Oleksandr Usyk.

Tyson Fury has admitted to being "absolutely devastated" at having to pull out of his fight against Oleksandr Usyk later this month.

Boxing fans have waited 25 years for an undisputed heavyweight clash to take place with Fury and Usyk ending that run.

An agreement was made last year between both camps for a two-fight deal with all four heavyweight belts on the line in the first bout.

But the fight, scheduled for February 17, has now been postponed after news that Fury has suffered a cut above his eye in training.

Queensbury Promotions released a photo of Fury's huge gash on social media with no date given on when the bout could possibly be rescheduled.

Fury has now broken his silence, apologising to everyone involved with the Saudi Arabia event now in jeopardy.

Fury said: "I am absolutely devastated after preparing for this fight for so long and being in such superb condition.

"I feel bad for everyone involved in this huge event and I will work diligently towards the rescheduled date once the eye has healed.

"I can only apologise to everyone affected including my own team, Team Usyk, the undercard fighters, partners, and fans as well as our hosts and my friends in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia."

The WBC heavyweight champion later issued a threat to Usyk, insisting he was in "fantastic shape" and posted a revealing photo of his physique.

He wrote: "Can't help getting injured in sparring.

"But what I can say was Usyk was in trouble I am in fantastic shape.

"I will reschedule soon as I can. 2024 a massive year for team GK."

It's unclear when the fight will be rescheduled for but Usyk's camp reportedly fear it won't be until the Riyadh season comes back around at the end of the year.

Riyadh season takes place between October and March and this current season was kicked off by Fury's fight with Francis Ngannou four months ago.

The Riyadh Season Cup was also seen as the potential last time Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi would face off against each other with Al Nassr and Inter Miami respectively.

However, Ronaldo was ruled out of the match due to injury while Messi was benched and only featured for a few minutes.

Anthony Joshua will fight Ngannou next month to end the current Riyadh season.
