Iron Mike is returning the sport four years on from his last bout with Roy Jones Jr

Evander Holyfield thinks Mike Tyson could quit his fight with Jake Paul midway through.

All eyes are currently on the 57-year-old as he prepares to come out of retirement, four years on from his last bout with Roy Jones Jr back in 2020.

Tyson is eager to rock the boxing world by beating Paul, who is 30 years his junior.

Holyfield knows all about the danger Iron Mike can pose, with the pair previously fighting back in 1996.

And the 61-year-old, speaking to FightHub TV, has expressed a belief that Tyson could quit his fight with Paul midway through.

“I don’t know, it all depends on how Jake fights," he said when asked for a prediction.

"The point of the matter is whether Jake Paul takes a good shot.

"I have never seen him get hit by anybody.

"But you never know, Mike might just quit in the ring and sit down and say am done.”

Tyson insists he's eager to beat Paul, despite the pair being friends.

Their clash is expected to be sanctioned as a professional fight, instead of an exhibition.

But many fans aren't sure what to expect from Tyson, especially given his age.

Paul is a divisive figure, with the 27-year-old losing just one fight so far - which was against Tommy Fury last year.

Yet he believes it'll be a major scalp if he's able to beat Tyson, with the former YouTuber also piling on the pounds so he can cope with his older, more-experienced oppponent.

Meanwhile, Carl Froch has opened up as the fight approaches.

The 46-year-old has long been critical of Paul, recently saying the American was 'useless' and 'cannot fight'.

And Froch, speaking to Safebettingsites.co.uk, has said the fight shouldn't be happening 'at all'.

"The Jake Paul - Mike Tyson fight shouldn’t be happening at all, it’s not a professional boxing match, it’s an exhibition," he said.

"From what I’m hearing with the contracts, allegedly, he gets paid less if he wins in round one, Tyson, or if he gets a knockout he gets paid even less.

"There’s restrictions in his contract based on how he wins.

"I don’t know if it’s been confirmed, but I’ve read somewhere that there’s a clause in his contract that means he’s going to earn less money if he goes out there and destroys Jake Paul.

"Because that’s Mike Tyson’s chance, isn’t it?

"Comes out, still got all of his power, still got his punching power, still feel strong, can still throw a few decent punches, but his fitness and cardiovascular endurance is pretty much gone, his reflexes are shot to bits, he’s got no real timing, he can’t extend and he hasn’t got the speed to land shots.

"So the best chance Mike Tyson’s got is to get on Jake Paul or Jake Paul tries to grab hold of him and push him off, manhandle him and f***ing smash him on the side of the head.

"Mike Tyson has got a chance early on at the start of the fight if he connects, so I reckon Jake Paul is a massive favourite in a shambles of an exhibition which I think shouldn’t be happening."

He added: "I think it's disgusting, but I've made my point quite clear.

"Jake Paul, p******g around trying to promote the show, it’s embarrassing.

"I hope he lands a shot (vs Jake Paul), I just hope he lands a couple of shots and puts Jake Paul in his place, but unfortunately it’s pre-scripted, Mike Tyson doesn’t play the game, and he’s 58 when they get together.

"I’m not gonna watch it, I’m gonna refuse to watch it. I’m not getting involved in it."
