The two men will fight on July 20 with Netflix set to stream the showdown to millions

Mike Tyson has opened up on his cannabis empire ahead of his fight with Jake Paul - and revealed a 'brilliant' idea from his wife, Lakiha Spicer.

Iron Mike is currently preparing for his seismic showdown with Paul on July 20, with the 57-year-old returning to the ring after a four-year absence.

The boxing legend last fought Roy Jones Jr back in 2020, with that clash ending in a draw.

While Tyson was formidable during his prime years, he's since established his own cannabis empire over in America.

Recently, Tyson promoted the expansion of his brand, Tyson 2.0, in Times Square.

He is bringing the expansion to his hometown of Brooklyn, while he's also working with a new collaboration with marijuana seed bank Royal Queen Seeds.

Tyson 2.0 sells marijuana products including vapes and edibles, with the latter made in the shape of Evander Holyfield's ear.

The boxing legend famously bit the ear of Holyfield when they fought back in 1997.

And Tyson has revealed the 'brilliant' idea to use the ear as a product came courtesy of his wife, Lakiha.

Speaking to Forbes, he said: “My wife is a nut, but she’s brilliant.

“And [one day] she said, ‘Why don't you use the ear?'

"‘Get out of here,’. “I was a little bitter because the ear got me in a lot of trouble.”

Yet Tyson came round to the idea and has joked both himself and Holyfield are the 'only people still making money from a fight 30 years ago'.

“You know what’s funny? When I bit Holyfield’s ear, they took $3 million from me," he added.

“I made more than that taking pictures of biting other people’s ears.

"Me and Holyfield are the only people still making money from a fight 30 years ago.”

Tyson first started cannabis when he was a child.

Recalling his past, he said: “I’m crying and my mother’s friend says, ‘Hey, I’ll give him something’ and she let me smoke.

“And I never stopped.”

Tyson also admits being the face of cannabis still stuns him due to being an 'uneducated guy'.

“Why did God, the universe, whatever we believe, why am I the face of it?” he asks.

“An uneducated guy, Mike Tyson, why am I the face of cannabis and psychedelics? Why me?

"I can’t even spell cannabis and psychedelics.”

However, Tyson is currently taking a break from smoking to boost his chances of beating Paul, who is 30 years his junior.

“Right now, I’m living my life disciplined: it’s been six weeks that I haven’t gotten high or had sex," he admitted.

“I haven’t done that since I was a little kid.

“I hate not being able to smoke but I’m doing it like I love it; I hate not being able to sleep with my wife but I'm doing it like I love it.”
