Mike Tyson has not fought since his laboured defeat to Jake Paul in November

Mike Tyson has been offered a sensational comeback fight against MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko by Kazakhstan's Alash Pride League.

The 58-year-old former heavyweight boxing champion, who lost to Jake Paul last November, is being courted for a bout scheduled for December.

The Kazakh combat sports promotion has approached Tyson to face the 48-year-old Russian former PRIDE heavyweight champion, who retired from MMA in 2023 with an impressive 40-7 record.

APL President Alimzhan Bektaev confirmed the promotion's intentions during a media address in Astana, Kazakhstan this week.

"We are planning a bout between Mike Tyson and Fedor Emelianenko," Bektaev said.

"Work in this direction is already underway... The tournament, where we want to invite Mike Tyson, is scheduled for December."

The APL did not specify which rule set they intend to use for the potential crossover clash, though it would almost certainly take place under boxing rules.

Emelianenko is widely regarded as one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time.

The Russian superstar dominated the heavyweight division during the mid to late 2000s, stringing together an incredible 27-fight winning streak.

During his illustrious career stretching back to 2000, he defeated fellow all-time greats including Mirko Cro Cop, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Mark Coleman, and Andrei Arlovski.

A four-time combat sambo world champion, Emelianenko eventually retired in February 2023 following a first-round TKO loss to Ryan Bader at Bellator 290.

Tyson earned a reported £20 million for his bout with Paul last November, despite looking like a shadow of his former self as he laboured to a unanimous decision loss at the AT&T Stadium in Texas.

In December, the boxing veteran made concerning admissions about his condition after the fight.

"I don't remember the fight that much, I kind of blanked out," Tyson told Fox Sports Radio. "I don't know if I'm 100 per cent recovered, but I feel good."

Despite uncertainty about whether Tyson would entertain the offer, Emelianenko has previously expressed interest in boxing the former heavyweight champion.

Speaking during an appearance on the Ariel Helwani show in 2023, shortly after his retirement from MMA, Emelianenko said: "MMA is done 100 per cent, I am not going to go back to MMA.

"I want to try my hand at boxing, I think it will be interesting... I watched the fight between Roy Jones and Mike Tyson, I would like to fight him.

"He has a big name, and he is a legend."
