The Briton was too strong for his oppponent on Friday night, needing just two rounds to get the job done

Anthony Joshua has mocked Francis Ngannou on social media, with Conor McGregor reacting to his post.

Joshua required just two rounds to get the better of Ngannou on Friday night, with the Watford-born boxer knocking his opponent down three times during the bout.

The Briton showed a touch of class by consoling his beaten rival in the aftermath of the fight in Riyadh, imploring him to stay in boxing.

But Joshua has now decided to stick the knife into Ngannou on social media.

Ngannou's nickname is the 'predator'. But Joshua, writing on Instagram, crossed out that word and said: "Predator to prey."

McGregor initially replied by saying: "Madness."

And he then added the words 'nah man' as well.

Boxing fans were full of praise for Joshua in the comment section, with one user saying: "Tyson Fury. Run for your life."

A second said: "Was a sitting duck. A good boxer always beats a good UFC fighter under boxing rules."

A third weighed in by saying: "AJ the destroyer."

A fourth said: "Let's keep it going champ."

And a fifth commented: "I never doubted you once."

Joshua spoke to DAZN in the immediate aftermath of the fight and insisted Ngannou was a 'great champion', despite the emphatic nature of the Cameroonian's defeat.

"On the road to the championship, you should always stay focused," he said.

"I thought this was something for the broadcasters to get behind.

"When I saw the fight with Tyson Fury I thought I want some of that. He [Ngannou] is a great champion and this doesn't take anything away from his capabilities.

"I told him not to leave boxing. He's two fights in and he fought the best.

"All of these guys that I worked with until this day. I'm just hungry. Stay hungry and all that good stuff.

"It only takes one shot in the heavyweight division. Joseph Parker is one of my favourite fighters, he had it tough and look at him now.

"I'm just doing it while I'm here and making the most of it. In five years I won't be fighting.
