Shoppers across the UK are set to face widespread disruption as major retailers close stores for 24 hours on Easter Sunday, April 5.
High street chains including Tesco, Aldi, Greggs, Primark, Home Bargains, B&M, IKEA, Lidl, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Asda and Marks & Spencer will shut stores across large parts of the country.
The closures will apply across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, while most stores in Scotland are expected to remain open under different trading rules.
Retailers have advised customers to check local opening times in advance, as hours can vary depending on store size and location.

Supermarket chains are among those implementing widespread closures for the day.
Tesco will close all stores on Easter Sunday, except for larger Scottish branches which will continue to operate under normal hours.
Most Tesco stores are expected to reopen on Easter Monday between 8am and 6pm.
Sainsbury’s will also close the majority of its stores on Sunday, although some smaller Sainsbury’s Local shops and Scottish branches may remain open.

Morrisons is set to shut most of its locations, with only selected Scottish stores expected to trade.
Asda will close the majority of its stores on Sunday before reopening on Easter Monday from 8am to 10pm.
Discount supermarkets Aldi and Lidl will both shut stores in England and Wales, while continuing to operate in Scotland.
Aldi stores are expected to open from 8am to 8pm on Easter Monday.

Aldi stores in Scotland will remain open

Home Bargains will close around 560 stores across England and Wales, while approximately 70 locations in Scotland will remain open.
A spokesperson said: "All Home Bargains stores in England and Wales will be closed on Easter Sunday."
B&M will follow a similar approach, closing stores across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, while keeping Scottish branches open.
IKEA will shut 20 of its 22 UK stores, with only its Glasgow and Edinburgh locations remaining open.

Greggs stores may be open on reduced hours
| PA/GREGGSPrimark will close all of its UK stores on Easter Sunday, affecting around 190 locations nationwide.
Food-to-go chain Greggs will close many of its branches, although some locations in petrol stations and travel hubs may remain open with reduced hours.
A Greggs spokesperson said: "Greggs stores often operate on reduced hours during holidays and some branches may close completely on major festive days, timings can vary by location, especially for outlets in shopping centres, airports, and petrol stations."
Retailers have urged shoppers to plan ahead and make purchases in advance of the closures.
Customers are being encouraged to use online store locators and mobile apps to confirm opening times before travelling, as schedules may differ between branches.
