Zara Tindall has spoken out about Christmas with the Royal Family as she and Mike have prepared to join King Charles at Sandringham.

Zara, 43, confirmed that the Royal Family wear black tie for dinner together on Christmas Eve, with King Charles and Queen Camilla traditionally playing host at Sandringham Estate.

The Equestrian and former England rugby star attended the Battle of the Commentators charity lunch at Evolution London in Battersea Park, on Wednesday.

Zara revealed that the family follows Christmas traditions and some of their own.

She revealed that even the most senior Royal Family members, including her late grandparents, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, have stockings on Christmas day.

She said: "We give presents to each other on Christmas Eve.

"As adults, we still have stockings on Christmas Day."

Mike and Zara regularly spend the holiday season with the royals.

They are seen every year on the Sandringham Estate's annual walk to St Mary Magdalene Church.

In recent years, their daughters, Mia, ten, and Lena, six, have accompanied them.

The children spend time with their cousins, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.

The Tindall's also have a three-year-old son, Lucas, who is yet to make his Christmas Day debut.

The Prince and Princess of Wales, both 42, will also attend the main Christmas Day service at St Mary Magdalene on the Sandringham Estate.

King Charles, 76, has kept to royal Christmas traditions largely, although Queen Camilla, 77, has also started inviting her children and grandchildren.

Despite his current Royal Lodge row with King Charles, the Duke of York is believed to have received an invite for the Sandringham festivities.

Royal commentator Emily Andrews wrote in Woman Magazine: "Friends say that the extended Royal Family who were invited to Sandringham last year - among them Prince Andrew and his family, and ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, are awaiting to see how Charles' health holds up in the coming weeks, but they hope to all go."
