The new law will end the statue of limitations for adult victims or their survivors bringing civil legal claims against people accused of sexual assault

Sky Roberts, brother of Virginia Giuffre, has called for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor to “show up and answer questions” as he met with politicians in Washington D.C.

Mr Roberts and his wife Amanda, attended the US Capitol alongside politicians as they unveiled Virginia’s Law ten months after she committed suicide.

The new law will mean that survivors of sexual abuse will be able to pursue justice against offenders without a time limit.

In a press conference Mr Roberts emotionally said: “Virginia's dream was to inspire and empower survivors to come forward in a world that too often turns away from abuse and pushes it into the shadows.

“She wanted to bring light.”

Mr Roberts was asked about a photo of Andrew with his sister, to which he said: “'I think he should show up in front of our Congress.

“He has a lot of questions he needs to answer and he has been exploited through these files to have inconsistencies in his own messages.

“I want today to be about Virginia's law, to not allow this to happen again, but to Andrew, he needs to show up and answer questions in front of our Congress.”

Ms Giuffre claimed to have been trafficked to have sex with Andrew on three occasions, in London as well as on Epstein’s private island.

She died in April last year at the age of 41.

Andrew claims to have never met Ms Giuffre.

The former Duke of York has consistently denied any wrongdoing and settled with Giuffre out of court in 2022 with no admission of liability.

Mr Roberts continued in his speech to say that the new law would: “amplify the voices of survivors around the world.

“We send a clear message to perpetrators everywhere by introducing Virginia's law. Survivors deserve justice not expiration dates. Change must mean justice… justice in law.

“Virginia did not survive what she survived just to be silenced again.”

The new law will end the statue of limitations for adult victims or their survivors bringing civil legal claims against people accused of sexual assault.

It also allows victims to bring cases concerning sex crimes outside the US to the country, so long as the US has jurisdiction.
