|For almost her entire life, Queen Elizabeth was associated with the small Welsh herding dog and was often seen with at least one by her side.
Her love of the breed began when she and her younger sister, Princess Margaret, were gifted a pair in 1933 by their father, King George VI.
At age 18, the late Queen took ownership of her first Corgi, Susan – who all subsequent royal Corgis are descended from.
As a result, Elizabeth became one of the world’s most prolific Pembroke Corgi breeders.
