Sarah Ferguson has celebrated the bravery shown by King Charles and Princess Kate in their respective cancer battles, whilst also calling for wider recognition for ordinary people battling the disease.
The Duchess of York, 65, was speaking whilst attending a prestigious Knights of Charity Gala in Cannes, France.
Fergie, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023 and skin cancer the following year, empathised with the journeys of Charles and the Princess of Wales at the Château de la Croix des Gardes soirée.
"They’ve pushed through and deserve an enormous star of courage," the Duchess declared.

Fergie also stressed that all those on their own cancer journey should be recognised, not just those in the public eye.
She said: "The recognition shouldn’t just be for royals, but everyone battling this disease."
To that end, Sarah expressed empathy for the various struggles associated with cancer battles.
"You have to have the pins in the right place... and I always forget that," she told the Mail.

Her words echoed those shared by Princess Kate during her visit to Colchester Hospital, where she opened up about her own "rollercoaster" experience with cancer.
"There was often an expectation that following treatment, cancer patients 'crack on, get back to normal'," Kate explained during her hospital visit.
The Princess of Wales cautioned that the "very scary, very daunting experience" did not end once treatment was over.
She emphasised that patients need time to find their "new normal" rather than rushing back to their previous routines.

"The phase afterwards is, you know, difficult as you're not necessarily under the clinical team any longer, but you're not able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to.
"You have to find your new normal, and that takes time," she said.
Kate underwent abdominal surgery in January 2024, and during the subsequent tests, cancer was discovered, leading to the royal undergoing preventive chemotherapy treatment.
Earlier this year, she announced she was in remission and would undertake a gradual and considered return to royal responsibilities.

King Charles, who is still undertaking regular cancer treatment, said in April his own experience with the disease had brought "into sharp focus the very best of humanity."
The monarch observed that "the darkest moments of illness can be illuminated by the greatest compassion" in a speech at a Buckingham Palace Community Based Cancer Support Reception in April.
Quoting inspiring words of advice for others battling cancer from the late Dame Deborah James, Charles declared: "Find a life worth enjoying; take risks; love deeply; have no regrets; and always, always have rebellious hope."
