Sarah Ferguson facilitated a safe place of respite for the late Princess Diana, Prince William and Prince Harry during the early 1990s through her friendship with Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell has revealed.
Mr Russell disclosed that Diana and her two sons once enjoyed a week-long family holiday at his residence.
The Hollywood star explained that the royal visit took place during the early 1990s, offering a rare glimpse into a private moment from the young princes' childhood.
Mr Russell is currently promoting The Madison, a new drama series created by Taylor Sheridan of Yellowstone fame, alongside co-stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Matthew Fox and Patrick J. Adams.

The actor recounted first meeting Diana and King Charles at the royal premiere of Backdraft, where he found himself seated between the couple.
Mr Russell said: "I understand her difficulties with paparazzi and all that kind of thing. I said if you ever want to go somewhere that's pretty under control, we'll work it out - let me know."
The invitation eventually came to fruition through an unexpected connection between Ms Ferguson and Mr Russell's long-term partner, Goldie Hawn.
Mr Russell explained: "I think Fergie and Goldie had somehow later on got talking."

Diana subsequently took up the offer, bringing both William and Harry to stay at the property.
The family spent a week at the property and reportedly had a wonderful experience, though Mr Russell himself was not present during their stay.
Russell said: "I wasn't there, none of us were there at the time, but she wrote some really nice cards and things like that."
The actor revealed he has encountered Prince Harry on multiple occasions since that childhood visit.

Mr Russell said: "I've seen Harry a number of times since then and he always remembers, and he's very sweet - he always remembers it as one of the really fun times they had."
He added with evident pride: "I think it's a great thing - the Future King of England was sleeping in my son's room."
The 74-year-old Golden Globe nominee shared the story during an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, set to broadcast this Saturday.
Mr Russell also discussed his role as Preston Clyburn in The Madison, describing it as a departure from his usual work.

He said: "I've had the great opportunity to play different broad characters and genres, and that was on purpose because it kept me interested. The Madison show is very different, it's the first time I'm playing someone very like myself - I like that a lot too."
The actor also touched on his stepdaughter Kate Hudson's Oscar nomination for Song Sung Blue, confirming that Goldie Hawn will accompany her to the ceremony.
When asked about retirement, Mr Russell dismissed the notion, stating: "There is something about acting, it never gets old."
