Sarah Ferguson could potentially publish a memoir after reports claimed Prince Andrew has promised King Charles he will not write a tell-all book.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told GB News a Fergie autobiography would be “very harmful” and difficult to believe beyond “provable facts”.
Mr Fitzwilliams said: “I honestly suspect that if she ever did, I mean, what harm it might do. It could be very harmful.
“Because, of course, any book written by an insider is harmful, but the whole point of an autobiography is that you want to be believed.
“And I think that there would be very considerable problems in believing it, believing anything that she said, other than provable facts.”
The Sun reported on Sunday that Andrew has assured the King he will not “do a Harry” by publishing a revealing memoir.
The publication claimed that if Sarah does publish a memoir, it will likely be a “life lessons” book, though nothing has been announced.
The comments come amid wider uncertainty over where Andrew and Fergie will live. New reports suggest Andrew could relocate to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, while Sarah may move to Adelaide Cottage.

Prince William and Princess Kate will leave Adelaide Cottage for Forest Lodge later this year, Kensington Palace has confirmed.
Mr Fitzwilliams warned that proximity and perception matter. He told GB News the Waleses would be unlikely to welcome Andrew or Fergie living nearby and argued that the pair should consider living abroad, naming Abu Dhabi or Switzerland as examples.
He added that public patience was thin after “14 or 15 years” of scandals and noted continuing political and legal scrutiny surrounding Andrew.
The possibility of duelling royal books has loomed large since Prince Harry’s 2023 memoir.

Housing remains a live issue. Andrew has long occupied Royal Lodge on a long lease.
Recent reporting indicates movement toward a resolution that would see him leave in favour of a smaller Windsor property, while keeping him close to his daughters.
Sarah has not been a working royal for decades, but any relocation onto the Windsor estate would attract attention, given William and Kate’s move and the public interest in the York family.

He cautioned that an insider memoir by Fergie would risk further controversy at a delicate moment.
Buckingham Palace has not commented on Andrew’s reported assurance or on the housing speculation.
