"To have an artist of his calibre perform an exclusive UK show for us at the Sandringham Estate in 2026 is truly special, and we can't wait for what is going to be an unforgettable evening of timeless music."

Mr Richie joins a star-studded lineup, which includes headliner Eric Clapton at the estate on August 23.

The singer has sold over 125 million albums globally and is famous for a series of number-one hits such as All Night Long, Hello, Dancing on the Ceiling, and Truly.

Mr Richie performed at King Charles's Coronation Concert on May 7, 2023, at Windsor Castle.

He has been a long-time friend of the King, previously describing him as a "wonderful person who cares so much about people".

When the monarch stepped back into royal duties in 2024 following his cancer treatment, the singer praised him, saying he is "doing fantastic".

He told People magazine: "He's a wonderful, wonderful person who cares so much about people.

"He has a lot of ideas about what needs to change, what needs to be about the world.

"You probably won't hear it all coming out of his mouth because of the way the world is and what he has to stay quiet on, but he's a wonderful person, very funny,

"And over the years, I hope you're kind of getting to where you all will know that sense of humour a lot, like I understand it."
