Queen Mary of Denmark marked the new year with a stunning mermaid look as she accompanied King Frederik on Monday.
The Danish King and Queen were hosting a party for the Diplomatic Corps at Christian VII’s Palace.
The event honoured the judges of the Supreme Court, the officer corps of the Royal Lifeguards and the Guards Regiment, as well as mayors and regional councillors from all over Denmark.
Mary was spotted in a glorious midnight blue velvet top with long fitted sleeves and a Mandarin collar.

The jacket was paired with a mermaid-style skirt that just skimmed the floor; the queen accessorised her look with a pair of rounded-toe heels and a navy clutch bag.
Her choice of jewellery completed the look as she wore earrings of the Khedive of Egypt Parure, as well as the Sash and Star of the Order of the Elephant, King Frederik X’s Portrait Order, and the Badge of the Order of the Dannebrog.
Alongside her, King Frederik donned a uniform with his medals, the Sash and Star of the Order of the Elephant, as well as the insignia of his other Orders.

Mary showcased her earrings with her hairstyle, as the queen wore her hair in a sophisticated half-up, half-down look.
She completed the look with a burgundy manicure and makeup that featured grey eye shadow.
The 53-year-old has been busy since the start of 2026, as she pulled out all the stops for the New Year Banquet.

The celebration saw the queen don a lace top by Lasse Spangenberg, paired with her regularly worn gold skirt by Jesper Horving.
She accompanied her neutral look with a series of radiant jewels.
The Queen sported the Rose-Cut Diamond Bandeau Tiara and earrings from the Danish Crown Diamond Parure.

Kate’s dress was made by Phillipa Lepley and featured a full skirt, high neck gold lace bodice and was covered in lace.
The princess also wore a tiara to the event in September, the Lover’s Knot tiara, which is valued at £1million and was previously worn by Princess Diana.
