The Ukrainian British embassy has denied that King Charles is dead in an official statement after Russian media reported those false claims.
Several Russian news sites and social media accounts claimed the British monarch, 75, had died due to cancer complications.
They cited unnamed "media" sources in a string of posts.
This came after a fake Buckingham Palace statement reporting the King's "unexpected death" was circulating on social media.

The Russian newswire Sputnik reported: "King Charles III of Great Britain has died at the age of 75, according to media reports.
"There is no information about this on the Royal Family website or in the British media."
Minutes later, these claims were retracted after they had learned King Charles had not died.
The British Embassy in Kyiv wrote on social media: "We would like to inform you that the news about the death of King Charles III is fake."

It is not clear whether these reports were made in error, or Vladimir Putin's propaganda machine was behind it.
The British embassy's Telegram channel stressed the reports were fake in a notice in Russian.
The announcement said: "Reports about the death of King Charles III of Great Britain are fake."
Early outlets running the fake report included Sputnik, Readkovka and Mash, all staunchly pro-Putin outlets.

However, they all later corrected their stories.
The Mash media outlet wrote: "Britain's King Charles III has died, Buckingham Palace reports.
"The son of Elizabeth II ascended the throne less than a year ago - the Coronation took place on May 6, 2023. He was 75 years old."
It later updated to say "the message turned out to be fake" while adding: "Let us remember that a few months ago he was diagnosed with cancer."

But the outlet later stated: "The fake news about the death of Charles III quickly spread and was just as quickly debunked.
"The King of Great Britain is alive and continues to go about his business. At least that's what Buckingham Palace says."
The Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov's spokeswoman Maria Zakharova also posted: "London looks pathetic."
