It has become a regular feature of the festive season

Princess Kate’s Christmas concert at Westminster Abbey is set to take place again this year, according to the Royal Foundation’s latest accounts.

The Together at Christmas service has become a regular feature of the festive season, attended by members of the Royal Family and featuring performances and readings from well-known names including Gregory Porter, Paloma Faith and Richard E Grant. Kate also played piano at the inaugural event in 2021.

The Foundation’s report, published in August, confirmed: “Finally, to close 2025, the ‘Together at Christmas’ will once again aim to bring together communities across the UK to celebrate people who have gone out of their way to help others with even more impactful local services.”

No date has yet been announced by Kensington Palace, though the concert is typically held in December.

Last year’s service was the fourth organised by the Princess of Wales and came months after she revealed she had completed cancer treatment.

The Prince and Princess of Wales were joined by Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who each left handwritten notes on the “Kindness Tree” outside the Abbey.

Louis dedicated his to his grandparents, Carole and Michael Middleton.

“Thank you to granny and grandpa because they have played games with me,” it read.

More than 1,600 guests attended in 2024, with the event dedicated to those “who have shown love, kindness and empathy to others in their communities”.

Each received an Order of Service featuring artwork by Charlie Mackesy and a letter from the Princess of Wales thanking them “for all they have done to provide comfort and hope to those who need it the most.”

As she greeted guests, Kate reflected on the past year, saying she had faced “challenging times”.

She told Paloma Faith: “I didn’t know this year was going to be the year I’ve just had.”

When Ms Faith replied: “The unplanned,” the Princess answered: “The unplanned, exactly. But I think lots of people this year have had such challenging times.”

Senior royals at the service included the Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Beatrice, Zara Tindall, Lord and Lady Frederick Windsor, and Lady Gabriella Windsor.

The concert was later broadcast on ITV1 on Christmas Eve, attracting an audience of 3.3 million, according to the Royal Foundation.
