Oslo police have charged Marius Borg Høiby, the 28-year-old son of Norway's Crown Princess Mette-Marit, with multiple serious offences including rape, sexual assault and bodily harm.

The charges against Høiby, who is the stepson of Crown Prince Haakon but holds no royal title, follow an extensive investigation spanning several months.

Police announced on Friday that the case involves what they described as a "double-digit" number of alleged victims.

The 28-year-old was arrested three times in 2024 in connection with the investigation, which has drawn significant attention given his connection to the Norwegian Royal Family.

The charges comprise 23 offences in total.

Oslo Police Attorney Andreas Kruszewski stated: "I cannot go into further detail about the number of victims in the case beyond confirming that it is a double-digit number."

Police conducted what they described as a "thorough investigation", examining witness testimony, digital material including text messages, and carrying out searches.

Høiby, who has no official royal duties, came under scrutiny following his repeated arrests in 2024 on allegations including rape and preliminary charges of bodily harm and criminal damage.

His defence attorney, Petar Sekulic, said his client is "absolutely taking the accusations very seriously, but doesn't acknowledge any wrongdoing in most of the cases — especially the cases regarding sexual abuse and violence."

Høiby previously lived with the royal couple and their two children, Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus, but now resides nearby, according to local media.

GB News has contacted the Royal House of Norway for comment regarding the charges.

Police Attorney Kruszewski confirmed that Høiby cooperated during questioning, which has now concluded.

The defendant remains free whilst awaiting a potential trial,

In addition, Høiby is entitled to a presumption of innocence until a court determines otherwise.
