Queen Camilla's stylist has spoken out on Princess Kate's transition from dark brunette hair to blonde highlights.

The shade, which has been nicknamed "Posh Mum Bronde," has captured attention following the Princess of Wales's recent public appearances.

This sophisticated in-between hue merges brown and blonde tones. Neither distinctly blonde nor purely brunette, the colour occupies a coveted middle ground.

Celebrities such as Victoria Beckham and Jennifer Aniston have long embraced similar shades, but Kate has now firmly joined the trend.

The Princess of Wales demonstrated the look during her recent visit to Charing Cross Hospital, where her hair appeared softly infused with honey tones.

The updated colour had already made its debut on Christmas Day at Sandringham, where her long waves looked noticeably brighter and fuller beneath her hat.

Queen Camilla's hairdresser, Jo Hansford, who holds a Royal Warrant of Appointment, believes this marked a significant evolution in the princess's signature style.

Speaking to the Mail, Ms Hansford offered her assessment of the princess's refreshed look: "The depth and richness of her new shade beautifully enhance her skin tone and eye colour, creating a look that feels both modern and timeless."

The hairdresser, who has styled the Queen's hair for over three decades, added: "Polished and understated, her hair radiates sophistication and elegance, which are hallmarks of Catherine's signature style."

Ms Hansford emphasised that the colour complemented rather than competed with the princess herself, working harmoniously with her makeup and wardrobe.

It was seen as an elevation of her established aesthetic, rather than a departure from it.

The "Posh Mum Bronde" owes much of its popularity to its practical appeal.

Unlike stark blonde shades or flat brunette tones, this blended colour grows out without harsh root lines, making it ideal for women seeking polished hair without constant salon visits.

Ms Hansford explained the technical reasoning behind the shade's flattering effect: "Richer tones with added depth play a crucial role in creating balance and harmony with certain skin tones.

"Without these blended shades, going too light can leave the complexion looking overly pink or washed out."
