The Princess of Wales revealed that she has been able to have some "hard conversations" with her three children as they have begun to watch more movies.

Prince William and Catherine walked the red carpet at the prestigious film awards ceremony, with the princess wearing a striking pink-toned Gucci gown.

Their attendance came just days after William's uncle, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was taken into custody on Thursday.

The future king has held the position of Bafta President since 2010, and both he and his wife are known for their passion for cinema, having been regular fixtures at the annual ceremony over the years.

During the evening, the Princess of Wales chatted with Emily Stillman, Chair of Bafta's Film Committee, about her three children's developing enthusiasm for the silver screen.

Ms Stillman recalled their previous meeting, telling Catherine: "Last time I saw you, you were pregnant with George and you were doing your Harry Potter spells," a reference to the couple's 2013 tour of the Warner Brothers studios in Hertfordshire.

The princess responded: "I was saying how much the children would love to look around. They love the idea of going behind the scenes and finding out how it all happens."

She went on to reveal that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have developed a keen interest in movies, explaining: "The children are starting to get interested in films and it's a really great way to have some of the hard conversations with them."

Prince William also spoke candidly about the acclaimed film Hamnet, which received a Best Picture nomination at the ceremony.

When asked whether he had watched it, William admitted: "I need to be in quite a calm state and I am not at the moment. I will save it."

His comments suggested the emotional weight of recent events had taken their toll on the heir to the throne.

Catherine revealed the film had reduced her to tears, confessing: "Yes, I think it was a very bad idea actually ended up with very puffy eyes."

She described the movie as "really very very powerful," highlighting its "fantastic" and "raw" musical score and its moving exploration of "intergenerational grief."

Royal sources have indicated that William is focused on helping the King rebuild public confidence following the scandal that has engulfed the institution.

Andrew underwent 11 hours of questioning last week in connection with allegations of misconduct in public office.

The King's brother was arrested on suspicion of sharing confidential information with Jeffrey Epstein, the billionaire paedophile.

According to sources, the future king has been quietly developing proposals to transform how the monarchy operates.

William's long-term vision reportedly centres on introducing a "corporate-like structure" to the institution, designed to enhance accountability to the British public.

The arrest has prompted renewed questions about whether the monarchy remains fit for purpose.

The former Duke of York has always denied any wrongdoing, but has not responded to recent allegations.
