The Princess of Wales makes a point of purchasing her denim rather than accepting complimentary garments, according to designer Donna Ida.
The Australian-born fashion entrepreneur, widely known as the "Queen of Jeans," expressed appreciation for Catherine's approach during an appearance at her pop-up shop at Chandos House in London, held in partnership with Dr Sebagh.
Ms Ida revealed that the princess consistently insists on paying for items from her collection.
This commitment to buying rather than receiving free clothing has earned the designer's gratitude, with Catherine standing as her most high-profile customer.

Ms Ida elaborated on why this purchasing practice proves more valuable for fashion brands than gifting arrangements.
"It's more beneficial for designers when the royals buy clothes and not receive freebies," she told the Mail.
"It shows that they want it and support your brand, and it's not just product being chucked around."
The designer emphasised that this thoughtful approach extends across the Royal Family.

"The royals are very conscious like that, and they would always want to pay for things and support brands," Ms Ida noted. "The royals are great."
Her comments highlight how genuine purchases carry greater significance for designers than promotional freebies.
The designer previously shared an intriguing detail about royal shopping habits back in 2019.
She revealed that Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, occasionally serves as a secret shopper for Catherine.

Ms Ida explained to the same newspaper that Sophie purchases pieces from her collection, with the duchess connected through a mutual friend who works as a stylist: "My friend, a stylist, is best friends with Sophie Wessex, and Sophie buys from us."
On one occasion, Sophie acquired the brand's black Sadie jumpsuit, priced at £295, for herself before requesting an additional one for the princess.
Ms Ida recounted: "She said, 'Kate wants one, can I get one as well?'"
The jumpsuit remains unworn publicly, with the designer noting it serves as "home-wear" for Catherine.

Catherine and William have a very close bond with Sophie and Edward
| PADespite the jumpsuit remaining a private wardrobe piece, Catherine has been photographed publicly wearing Ms Ida's denim on multiple occasions, with her first appearance in the designer's jeans dating back to 2011.
The shopping arrangement between Sophie and Catherine reflects their well-documented closeness.
Sophie, married to Prince Edward, Prince William's uncle, shares a warm bond with the princess.
The two royal women are frequently seen enjoying each other's company at high-profile events, often captured sharing laughter at occasions such as Royal Ascot, Wimbledon, and Garter Day ceremonies.
